Focus on improving the taxi journey
One of the components of the RTA plan to transform Dubai cabs into world-class cabs is the reward program. There will be some short-term alterations such as the improvement of seat fabrics, that will be noticed by passengers. Taxi interiors are now leathered. This renders the seats less uncomfortable, easy to wash, and easy to maintain.
The second new aspect is that taxis are using air fresheners. This is in a bid to make sure that the journey is pleasant and comfortable for all.
Experience better with technology
New technology is also being utilized by the RTA to enhance the taxi service. Their cars are installing high-tech sensors in cabs. These are real-time air quality sensors. This is to aid in making the air in the taxi clean and fresh. This emphasis on air quality indicates the desire of RTA to take care of passengers and their welfare.
Technology is also relevant in keeping track of the performance of taxis. The RTA is improving the systems to monitor and enhance efficiency. This assists in ensuring the smooth running of taxis and their timely running.
Supporting drivers and companies
The taxi drivers and the companies they are employed by are direct beneficiaries of the AED 8 million reward program. The RTA is offering an incentive with the hope of promoting great service. It may result in more satisfied drivers who are more eager to deliver high-quality service.
The RTA is also ensuring that the drivers work well in a comfortable environment. They are modernizing the uniforms of their drivers. The new uniforms are made of fabrics that are more appropriate to the weather in Dubai. It will also provide drivers with more uniform sets and allocate more sets to drivers (six sets). These minor changes may prove to be very significant in the day-to-day experience of a driver.
Assuring ongoing enhancement
The RTA would like to ensure that the improvements are continuous. They are connecting the outcomes of the trip evaluation to their systems. This implies that passenger feedback will be applied to ensure the monitoring and constant service improvement. High standards can only be maintained through this feedback loop.
Looking ahead
The RTA is determined to make its taxi service in Dubai better. The reward program and other programs will be a part of a larger plan. This is the plan to transform the transport network of Dubai into a smart, sustainable, and comfortable one. It aids in achieving the vision of the city of Dubai as a smart city and the requirements of its citizens.
According to the RTA, all these efforts were completed at a rate of 89.8 by the third quarter of 2025. This demonstrates that the work is on its way and that there are already numerous improvements in place. According to the plan, the RTA is still undertaking other high-impact initiatives.
With driver investments, technological advancements and comfort in the passenger experience, the RTA of Dubai is striving to make its taxi service an important and quality component of the transport network in the city.
