RTA Announcement For Free Parking in Dubai During Eid Al Fitr 2024 Celebrations
As reported by Gulf News, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) says parking will be free from the 29th of Ramadan to the 3rd of Shawaal. That’s six days of Eid Al Fitr is on April 10. Sundays already have free parking in Dubai, so that’s an extra day. But if Eid Al Fitr is on April 9, it’s only five days free.
Paid parking starts again on the 4th of Shawaal, the fourth day of Eid Al Fitr. This lets people move around Dubai without paying for parking, depending on when Eid Al Fitr happens.
Dubai RTA Eid Al Fitr Operating Hours and Services Update
Since Eid Al Fitr is around the corner, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has updates on its service hours. Let’s make it easy to understand:
Customer Happiness Centers Schedule
During the Eid holidays, all regular service centers will be closed. However, The Smart Customer Centers in Umm Ramool, Deira, Barsha, and Al Kifaf will operate as normal. The RTA Head Office will also stay open 24/7.
Extended Operating Hours of Dubai Metro and Trams
The Dubai Metro and Tram will run for longer hours during festive holidays to accommodate travelers. Here’s what you need to know:
- Dubai Metro’s Red and Green Lines will run from 5 am – 1 am the next day on Saturday, April 6.
- On Sunday, April 7, the Metro will start at 8 am and continue until 1 am the next day.
- From Monday to Saturday (April 8–13), the Metro will operate from 5 am to 1 am.
- Finally, on Sunday, April 14, the Metro will run from 8 am to 12 midnight.
Similarly, the Dubai Tram will also extend its hours during the holiday period, ensuring convenient transportation.
- Trams will operate on Monday to Saturday from 6 am to 1 am
- On Sunday from 9 am to 1 am
Change In Public Buses And Marine Transport Timings
There is a change in the timings for public and intercity buses from 29th Ramadan to 3rd Shawwal. Check the S’hail App to know the updated schedules. You can also find the operating hours for water taxis, Dubai Ferry, and Abra on the RTA app.
Important Updates on Vehicle Testing and Services
From Ramadan 29 to Shawwal 3, the vehicle testing centers will be closed. They will reopen on Shawwal 4. If you need a vehicle testing service, you can only get it on Ramadan 29 and Shawwal 3.
